controversial opinion but unfortunately you are your actions and what you say. if you are mean to people, it doesn’t matter if you sometimes have secret kind thoughts. fortunately you are your actions and what you say. if you are kind in your actions and your words, it doesn’t matter if you sometimes have mean thoughts. the power is in working against inner negative thoughts and being a better person despite it. you have the ability to cultivate the person you want to be.
im noticing that for a lot of americans “free palestine” has been an ideological motto and symbol rather than them actually believing in their heart that freedom is attainable and necessary
palestinians deserve the right to be able to travel freely in our homeland. to even visit our homeland. for us to have citizenship and rights to our own country. to grow our plants. practice our religions. live without fear that our children can be kidnapped by israeli forces on their violent whims. to not have our life savings poured into building a home for our families that are torn down without real warning by israeli bulldozers. to no longer be refugees. like this is real life. this is real.
we don’t want to be reduced to a never ending slogan. we want to put down our need for resistance. to rest & to live.
ah my favorite zelda game *looks at smudged writing on my hand* Wind Baker
Sometimes it blows my mind that there are people that don’t wear glasses/contacts. Like they can literally see with no aid. Like they wake up and just be out here seeing. What a wild concept.
And people say stuff like ‘lol don’t you hate it when you look up in the middle of the night and see a spider on your ceiling’ like bitch (!!) i could have Nicholas II last czar of Russia hangin from my ceiling fan and i would be none the wiser
I know this sounds like the deranged ramblings of a senile old man but I swear it used to be possible to look up information on the internet
UPDATE
Hussam went around camp and asked the children about their toys from before the bombing, and here are their answers. He calls them “Amu” or “Uncle” as a form of endearment commonly used by elders to refer to children, and children also call men outside the family Amu.
You can hear a constant buzzing in the background. This is the drone they live with 24/7 and is a constant source of anxiety for children. After this video, Hussam spent days looking for toys for the children, and I will be uploading a video as proof of purchase tonight. Hopefully this helps alleviate some anxiety and add a smile to their face in the midst of all this violence.
Thank you so much for all your support these past few weeks. Please consider donating or spreading the link even outside of tumblr.
I used to have a blog called “helpgazachildren” but for some reason both the gmail I used and the tumblr were deleted and I appealed for the gmail so we will see what happens. In the meantime, I will upload to my (@/fairuzfan) personal blog. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out.
You will not be able to fully understand or relate to people with differing disabilities. Being disabled yourself does not give you immunity to having biases, ableist ideas, or misunderstandings about people with different disabilities. We all have unique struggles and things that help/hurt us, and it’s both beautiful and frustrating. It’s what makes our community strong but it also can lead to infighting and miscommunication. Be aware of other disabilities, listen to people outside your specific condition. Don’t talk over others and if you do apologize and learn from it. Don’t assume because YOU haven’t encountered something that it means anyone talking about it is lying or exaggerating. We can still have each other’s backs without having the same experiences. We can do this. Take my hand.
So many Palestinians’ lives will just never be the same. Even on the chance that a ceasefire is declared, which even that isn’t forthcoming, it will not undo the trauma of having your home destroyed, of having the cafe you dwelled every day reduced to rubble, of digging among ruins to see your loved ones one last time, of living in makeshift encampments that are bombarded by airstrikes day and night, of experiencing a live genocide while the world does absolutely nothing to stop it. Those people have seen things they can never speak of—and still we have people chalking it up to “exterminating Hamas,” to “Arabs being terrorists,” to “both sides are in the wrong.” The least we owe Palestinians is a free Palestine, but it’s far from the last thing.
wish we had more internal organ emojis
Sending spleen emojis to my depressed friends to indicate that their excessive black bile is causing their melancholia
I work at a restaurant and nothing will ever beat the time this woman threw an absolute hissy fit at brunch because we ran out of home fries and all we had were french fries, she yelled at me, she demanded to speak to my manager, and when she’s in the middle of complaining, my manager just stopped her and went “hey do you want a hug?” and this woman went “what?” and my manager was like “you just seem super upset about the shape of these potatoes and I thought maybe you needed a hug” fucking hysterical, I got to watch a human blue screen in real life, absolutely the best way to shame someone for their nonsense I’ve ever seen
